The Champagne and Aishihik First Nation needed two jobs done; a map biography and an oral history. Together, they comprised about 1,500 pages of text. Far from intimidated, I was excited to get cracking and intrigued and honored by the subject matter. Wow, was it interesting! There was a whole world opened up as the elders told their stories. Tales of their traditional lands and legends from their resource-rich past told through generations and handed down for safe-keeping. It was a pleasure to hear and be entrusted with the recording.
